At the age of 70 he retired from Siemens Westinghouse, spent his winters in Central Florida bass fishing, and his summers cruising Lake Wylie with family on his pontoon boat. His favorite activities were bass fishing, reading novels, and evening cruises on the lake. He was a member of Metrolina Bass Hunters for over 20 years, making lifelong friends.
